This article is about how to send airtime on MTN telecom network in Ghana. If you want to send airtime from your account balance to another MTN user then follow this simple guide.

To be able to transfer or send airtime from your balance, you need to activate a service called Me2U.

How to activate Me2U

  1. Dial *198# and send.
  2. Select option 1 (Activate) and click send.
  3. Choose new PIN (4 digits number) and send
  4. Repeat the new PIN code (4 digits number and send

You will receive a confirmation about the activation. Note: The four digits PIN is your secret passcode that you should not forget because it be use in all airtime transfer.

How to send airtime on MTN using Me2U

  1. Dial *198#
  2. Select option 2 (Transfer)
  3. Receiver’s phone number
  4. Amount in cedis (eg 5 cedis)
  5. Enter decimal value (Amount in pesewa eg. 20p
  6. Enter your PIN code
  7. Press 1 to confirm the transfer.

Alternatively, you can dial directly with the syntax : *198*2*phone number*amount eg. 5* decimal value eg. 00*PIN code# and send. This will looks like example below.

*198*2*0552233740*5*00*1111#
